Calagaz Printing is honored to have received the 2020 Mobile Chamber of Commerce Small Business Award. Recognized for innovation, creativity, outstanding sales growth as well as commitment to the community, Calagaz was a finalist alongside JJPR and WaveFly. The award is based on five categories – business operations and impact, financial position, innovation and entrepreneurship, customer service and market strategy and community involvement.
Joe Calagaz, owner and operator of Calagaz Printing, started the printing division of the family business in 1991. Nearly thirty years later, Calagaz Printing is an independent business focused on providing full-service commercial printing, signage and apparel for businesses both locally and nationally.
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Calagaz Printing team pivoted and was able to make more than 180,000 face shields to help keep their employees active and employed, while simultaneously helping take care of businesses, restaurants, and healthcare workers in the community. Calagaz’s ability to become a versatile printing business during these unprecedented times helped them receive the nomination, and later the award, of being Mobile’s top small business this year.
” We are humbled and grateful for this recognition, and couldn’t do it all without the support of our clients and partners,” says Joe Calagaz. “We look forward to continuing our strong tradition of community service, customer service and innovation. I am thankful for our leadership team and everyone at Calagaz Printing.”
